THE WOLCOTT VINEYARD | |
Vineyard InformationThe Wolcott Vineyard is situated on the east side of Dry Creek Valley on bench land that rises gradually from the valley floor. With slopes that face both east and west, the grapes enjoy good exposure to the sun. Summer fogs are common in this part of the valley, however the vineyard is far enough inland so that the fog almost always lifts by mid-morning. The soil is a gravelly loam of the Manzanita series. It is deep and very well drained. The number of Dry Creek Valley vineyards with similar characteristics is limited, and most are owned by established wineries that use the grapes for their own brands. Wolcott Vineyard is committed to growing the grapes that meet the needs of the most exacting winemaker. We are dedicated to providing a winery with quality grapes as if they were from your own vineyard. Sustainable agricultural practices are important to us for many reasons. We have always had a real concern for the environment and are happy to spend the extra time, effort and money to contribute to the health of Dry Creek Valley. In addition, as our family has a home on the vineyard, we live with the consequences of our operations and take pride in seeing the vines grow in a healthy environment.
